MediEvil is a modern reimagining of the 1998 action-adventure game MediEvil. Developed by Other Ocean Emeryville and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it was released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on October 25, 2019. The game retains the original’s story, following Sir Daniel Fortesque, a skeletal knight resurrected to defeat the evil sorcerer Zarok and save the kingdom of Gallowmere. The remake features completely overhauled graphics, updated controls, and re-recorded audio, while maintaining the classic gameplay elements, humor, and gothic aesthetic that defined the original.

In the year 1286, an evil sorcerer named Zarok plotted to take over the kingdom of Gallowmere with his undead army. It is told in legend that the King of Gallowmere's champion, Sir Daniel Fortesque, led his army to victory and managed to kill Zarok before succumbing to his mortal wounds.
