Battlefield 2142
Having placed their previous online shooters in WWII, the Vietnam War, and modern day settings, Battlefield 2142 took place in a future where a new ice age had thrown the world into a panic. The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth’s population, and players choose to fight for one of two military super powers in an epic battle for survival: The European Union or the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition. Introducing a futuristic art style, science fiction weaponry, and the asymmetric game mode Titan, Battlefield 2142 still has a hardcore following that doesn’t want to leave the future behind.
Call of Duty
The American campaign follows Private Martin of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment from basic training at Camp Toccoa through the chaos of the Normandy airdrops on D-Day. Scattered from his unit, Martin fights alongside whatever soldiers he can find to secure towns, silence German artillery threatening Utah Beach, and rescue captured British officers before facing German armor during the Battle of the Bulge. The British campaign puts Sergeant Jack Evans in a Horsa glider during the assault on Pegasus Bridge, then follows his transfer to the SAS for sabotage missions deep behind enemy lines, including the destruction of a restored dam and an infiltration of the battleship Tirpitz. The Soviet campaign traces Corporal Voronin from the desperate river crossing at Stalingrad, where Soviet officers execute soldiers who retreat, through the recapture of a key apartment building, and eventually forward to 1945 where he commands a tank during the advance on Berlin and storms the Reichstag to raise the victory banner.

Squad is a large scale combined arms multiplayer first-person shooter emphasizing combat realism through communication, team play, emphasizing strong squad cohesion mechanics as well as larger-scale coordination, tactics, and planning. It features 20 large open maps, vehicle-based combined arms gameplay, and player-constructed bases to create a heart-thumping, visceral gaming experience with split-second decision-making in real-world scale firefights.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
In Call of Duty 4, the player assumes the role of two characters in the fictional war that takes place in the game. Sgt. John "Soap" MacTavish, a member of the British S.A.S. and Sgt. Paul Jackson, a member of the United States Marine Corps. Though missions for both characters take place in different locations they are both fighting toward the same goal; to stop the terrorist forces of Khaled Al-Asad and Imran Zakhaev from using a nuclear weapon they have obtained.
